5 Things You Need To Know for Monday, May 11th:

1. Emily King on Eric Krasno Plus One. Eric talks to his friend, singer-songwriter Emily King, who checks in from her family home in lower Manhattan where she’s sheltering in place. Being back home inspires her to tell Eric about growing up in a musical family, going on the road with her jazz singer parents, and why hamburgers and french fries in the dressing room made her want to become a musician.

2. RIP Little Richard—Tapes Archive Interview from 2000. Again a never before heard interview from The Tapes Archive, from 2000. Marc the host and Little Richard talk about a lot of stuff—at the time of this interview, he was 67 years old and was promoting the TV movie based on his life called “Little Richard.” In the interview, Richard talks about why he wore make-up, how he was the first African American to be on white radio, and how he discovered the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones.

3. Audience Input. We need your help. We want to ask you some questions about your Osiris listening/watching, what kinds of content you like, and a few other things. Send us a message on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram if you’re interested in helping us out.

4. 5pm—The National Benefit Event. The National said “our crew are the lifeblood of our touring operation and have become family through the many years we’ve worked together. As uncertainty looms over the state of the live concert industry, we will direct all profits from merch sales through our webstore.” Check it out.

5. 8pm—Positive Legacy Virtual Variety Show. The first episode of The Virtual Variety Show airs tomorrow, helping support Positive Legacy’s COVID-19 fundraiser giving back to out of work music crew. The first episode features Larry Keel, Jeff Coffin, and members of The Motet and Fruition…all to help raise funds for those who make live music events happen!

Today is Monday.
