Kelsey Waldon chatted with JamBase’s Scott Bernstein after a recent show in New York City. The “Musical Mentors” segment started with a discussion of Waldon’s relationship with John Prine whose Oh Boy Records label issued her 2019 album, White Noise/White Lines. Next, the singer-songwriter talked of musical influences and her move from Monkey’s Eyebrow to Nashville. Waldon also discussed those who took her under their wings on the business side of the music industry, why she included a cover on White Noise/White Lines and more.

Ben Morrison spoke with JamBase’s David Onigman in Oakland earlier this year. The pair began the “Quit My Day Job” segment by reminiscing about The Brothers Comatose’s version of “Brokedown Palace” the band contributed to JamBase’s Songs Of Their Own 2015 video series honoring 50 years of the Grateful Dead. Ben then discussed growing up in Petaluma, California and his first instruments. Morrison went on to recall the first band he put together with his brother and Brothers Comatose band mate, Alex Morrison. The singer-songwriter continued by detailing a few day jobs he held down, including work at San Francisco venue Slim’s, before he embarked on a full-time career as a musician. Ben also talked about his recently released debut solo album, Old Technology, the catalyst for The Brothers Comatose’s return from a shorter-than-expected hiatus and balancing his time with the band and solo gigs.
