The latest episode of The JamBase Podcast features a chat with two members of the team that put together the documentary Between Me & My Mind. Producer Jamie Schutz and audio supervisor Steve Nelson sit for an “All Access” segment following “The Rundown” of recent news stories. Episode 41 of The JamBase Podcast, part of the Osiris podcast network, is sponsored by CBD Vermont.
JamBase’s Scott Bernstein spoke with Jamie and Steve in New York City ahead of Between Me & My Mind hitting theaters across North America on July 17. Schutz and Nelson are both longtime fans. Jamie explains how he and his partner at Stick Figure Productions, director Steven Cantor, convinced Trey to participate in the project. Steve then shares the fateful and cryptic text from Jamie that led to him working on the 100-minute film. Scotty goes on to chat with Schutz and Nelson about their careers, fandom and experiences with Trey and Phish over the two-year period in which the documentary was made. While all three did their best to avoid spoilers throughout, those who haven’t seen the film might want to skip the section from the 43-minute mark to the 45-minute mark.
The episode begins with Scotty and JamBase’s Andy Kahn co-hosting “The Rundown.” AK details his first ever High Sierra Music Festival experience and notes some of his highlights from the weekend. Then, Scotty discusses his wet adventure catching this past weekend’s Phish concerts at Fenway Park in Boston.
