The Drop — 3/9/23

Thanks for tuning in! Please share and review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

  1. Women’s History Month pioneers: Beyonce. This incredible artist now holds the record for Grammy wins, with 32. Not only is she an amazing singer, performer, and songwriter, she’s also pushing new boundaries, like in her most recent album, Renaissance. Here’s a Beyonce Spotify playlist.
  2. Dance Yourself Free. This is a podcast from NPR’s Throughline, which draws a line from Beyonce’s Renaissance to Chicago’s house music origins. Great listen.
  3. Love Rising in Nashville. To try and counter some of the extreme anti-LGBTQ+ legislation that has been passed in Tennessee, Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell, Brittany Howard, Hozier, and more will perform in a benefit concert in Nashville on March 20. Tickets go on sale today.
  4. Festivals festivals festivals. Just this week we have new or updated lineups from Summer Camp, Catbird, Sound on Sound, Rye Bread Music and Arts, and more. And a new Inappropriate Happiness tomorrow will dive into some of these.
